  • What kind of vinegar should I use to clean the filter?
All vinegar sold for household consumption can be used.
  • Can I store the alkaline water made in this in another container?
Sure, but while the pH will not change, the hydrogen and ORP values maybe change after a while.
  • Can I store water in my i-water bottle?
You can, but we recommend discarding water left in the bottle for longer than one day.
  • Do I have to clean after use?
While you don't have to clean your bottle after every use, we do recommend cleaning your i-water bottle at least once a week.
  • How do I prepare to use my bottle for the first time?
When you open your bottle for the first time, please be sure to rinse the inside of the bottle 2-3 times with clean water.
  • What do I do when I'm not using my bottle?
When you're not using your bottle for a long time, it's best to remove the filter and make sure it's dry before you store it.
  • When should I clean my bottle?
The stones in the filter of your bottle will naturally turn dark over time. This is normal and harmless to your health, but it does indicate that you should clean the bottle to maintain good pH levels.
  • How do I clean my bottle?
1.) Put 4 tablespoons of vinegar into the bottle and enough water so that the filter is submerged. 2.) Close the lid and shake the bottle more than 5 times, then open the lid and leave it for 2 minutes or until the stones are shiny. ***YOU MUST LEAVE THE CAP OPEN DURING CLEANING, IF YOU DON'T THE INTERNAL PRESSURE CAN DAMAGE THE LID*** 3.) When the color of the stones is shiny again, throw out the water and rinse the bottle 2-3 times with clean water.
  • What kind of water can I use?
You can use any water that meets government drinking water quality standards.
  • Can I use hot water?
The bottle material is Tritan which can be safely used between temperatures of -40 to 221 degrees Farenheit ( -40 to 105 degrees Celcius.)
  • What is the empty space at the bottom of the filter for?
This is for housing tea leaves, you can brew tea by putting loose tea leaves or a tea bag in this space.
  • Can I put this in the microwave?
Please do not put your i-water bottle in the microwave.
  • How long does the water stay alkaline?
The alkaline levels are maintained for around 10 hours, after this time frame we recommend refilling the bottle.
  • When should I replace the filter?
If you drink around 2 liters of water per day, you should replace the filter after around 1 year. Another way to know is when the stones have disintegrated to half the amount.
  • How long does it take to produce alkaline water?
Most tap water has a pH of around 7.0-7.2, and when you fill your i-water bottle with water it starts to form a value of more than 8.5 after about 1 minute.
  • How long does it take to lower the ORP?
If the ORP of the water put in the bottle is between +300mV to +500mV, the ORP level will be -100mV to -600mV after 10-15 minutes.
  • How long does it take to produce hydrogen water?
If the water put into the bottle is 100ppb of hydrogen, it will be up to 1500 ppb after about 5 minutes.
  • How can I check the pH of my water?
You can check the pH by using pH drops or a well calibrated pH meter. We don't recommend using pH strips as these are generally for saliva, urine or swimming pools and can't measure drinking water effectively.
  • What is ORP?
ORP is the oxidation reduction potential, which is a measure of the antioxidant levels of a substance.
